Senior Ruby on Rails Engineer (full-time)

General requirements:
  1. A solid web developer with experience in Ruby on Rails
  2. Experienced in software architecture
  3. Comfortable working in an environment that demands rapid iterations and constantly shipping quality code, we are Agile
  4. High attention to detail
  5. A good ideology for managing maintainable and scalable code
  6. Familiar with source control principles
  7. Desire to have fun
Tech skills:
  1. Ruby on Rails (2 years minimum)
  2. MySQL/NoSQL
  3. Amazon AWS (EC2, SimpleDB, S3, SQS)
A bonus if you also have experience with:
  1. Heroku, EngineYard
  2. Git
  3. Pivotal Tracker (Agile, Lean, development process)
  4. Javascript/JQuery/AJAX
  5. HTML/CSS
  6. PHP
Really nice if you:
  1. Can point us to 2 things that you have recently built and are proud of
  2. Also have at least one thing you can tell us about that you have built that you are not proud of and what you learned from the experience

JavaScript / Interface Developer (full-time)

Who we Need:
A JavaScript enthusiast with strong JQuery experience and savvy CSS skills who bends inheritance issues to their will. You are well versed with CSS3 but have fallback solutions in your back pocket for browsers that aren’t quite there yet. You have an eye for detail, a hunger for a fast paced Agile environment and a solid understanding of semantic markup and the separation of style and content. Throw in some Git experience for good measure and we’re ready to talk to you! 

Our ideal candidate will have:
* Experience working with jQuery, fairly advanced JavaScript skills
* Deep understanding of CSS inheritance and how to use it to your advantage
* Solid understanding of semantic markup and separation of style and content
* Utilize CSS3 while maintaining fallback for browsers that don’t support it
* Always weed out extraneous markup
* A good ideology for managing maintainable, scalable and cross-browser code
* Familiar with source control principles and comfortable with Git
* High attention to detail
* Ability to work in fast-paced environment utilizing Agile methodology
* Desire to have fun

Bonus points for
* In-depth knowledge of IE quirks and how to address them
* Ready to take advantage of HTML5 without waiting for the W3 spec to be finalized
* Very basic Photoshop skills
* We are an Apple technology company, and expect you to be a Mac user as well
* Knowledge of node.js

Community Manager (full-time)

The Community Manager will be responsible for developing and engaging the massive community through a comprehensive social media and engagement strategy.

Key Qualifications:
  1. Highly organized
  2. Self-directed
  3. High level of initiative and resourcefulness
  4. Strong written and verbal communication skills
  5. Well acquainted with web 2.0 tools and platforms for social media
  6. Entrepreneurial spirit who can wear many “hats”
  7. 1 to 2+ years’ experience with Community Management
  8. Can manage a team of support and community managers as the team/company grows
  9. 4-year college degree from accredited university; Marketing and/or Business majors preferred
Responsibilities:
  1. Social Media Management
  2. Oversee social presence in the online community, including Twitter, Tumblr, and Facebook
  3. Development of best practices to use in the process of growing and engaging a fanbase
  4. Develop weekly video blogs outlining best practices and new features of product
  5. Create blog relating to company news, product innovations and related industry news
  6. Create engaging forums for local and national community to share, offer feedback and air questions
Outreach
  1. Foster a sense of community around Ming.ly at both the brand properties and on the web at large by building relationships
  2. Identify influencers in your industry
  3. Establish relationships (i.e. partnerships with local Bloggers, IT Analysts, etc)
  4. Collecting feedback from our users (surveys, focus groups, etc)
  5. Monitor key online conversation and social networking sites and participate effectively
    1. Using local forums (Local Google Groups)
    2. Engage and motivate most active online advocates & ensure their efforts are recognized (contests, special cinema premieres tickets, SWAG)
    3. Using Online Social Media Tools which could expand our community members base
    1. Ensure that it becomes a viable tool for communicating to our users
    2. Encourage, recruit and provide Company & outside “experts” with the resources to blog
    3. Promote the blog by increasing awareness of the blog’s potential both within Company and externally
    1. Executing Targeted events to expand our community members base and generate community awareness (10 events per month)
    2. Themed local parties according to our communities interests
    1. Communicate customer suggestions and provide ideas for product improvement
    2. Participate in discussions on product use
    3. Track and report the following on a regular basis:
      1. Product bugs
      2. Quantitative measures as outlined by business goals
      3. Amount of activity at community site(s)
      4. Qualitative report of consumer responses
      5. Suggestions & feedback for management
      1. Stay up to date on new social media tools, best practices and how other organizations and companies are using them, so that the company can continue to be an early adopter of emerging technologies
      2. Participate in professional networking interacting with peers and leaders in online arenas & attend events
    4. Goal Setting & Professional Development
  6. Arrange a large variety of events:
